[DIY] All-Natural Blackhead Remover

We’re pretty sure it’s safe to say we all know about and have blackheads somewhere or other on our face or body, so we thought this genius DIY all-natural blackhead remover recipe could be of interest to some mums to do a little DIY pampering this weekend.

For mums it can be hard to find the time for a facial (or the money) so we’ve put together 6 easy steps for the perfect at-home solution for you. (Scroll further below to watch a video of the application and removal)

This face mask works because of the super setting properties that will stick to whatever it comes in contact with. Follow the simple recipes below and get ready to see those pesky blackheads get smaller and to achieve softer skin as the mask will also work as hair removal.

Make sure to clean your skin before you apply the mask AND don’t go over your eyebrows or hairline as this will probably remove those hairs as well. The mask does harden quickly so be sure to tye your hair back and wear a headband to keep any hair out of your face.

As with any new facecare product or treatment we recommend testing a spot on your face before applying all over.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of gelatine powder
  • 1.5 tablespoons of milk
  • Optional – add honey and or tea tree oil for added antibacterial benefits.

Recipe:

  1. Mix the ingredients together in a small saucepan and heat slowly for about 15 seconds till the ingredients combine to become a smooth liquid.
  2. Take off the stove and allow to cool.
  3. Once it has cooled slightly, spread it on to the area where you have blackheads. i.e. chin, nose, etc (*be aware that when you peel this off it will remove the hair from the area as well so avoid your hairline and eyebrows)
  4. Then wait for it to cool and dry. Depending on how thick you applied it.
  5. Once the mixture is dry and you are able to lift and peel it off you can remove it.
  6. You should see all the gunk in the bits you peel off – this is the dirt and oil that has been blocked in your pores and some facial hair.
