Budget Beauty Hacks Celebs Swear

Forget ridiculous potions with even more ridiculous price tags: here are some of the best-kept budget beauty hacks and a few strange ones, from some of our favorite celebs…

Although these stars have tens of millions of dollars, they’re no strangers to using household items and kitchen ingredients to hydrate their hair, moisturize their skin, and beautify themselves. (Sources here and here)

See below for some weird and wonderful beauty hacks:

GRAPE SEED OIL

Emma Stone credits this pantry item for her dewy glow. She uses natural Grapeseed Oil as her daily face moisturizer. It contains Vitamin E and has antioxidant properties, which are perfect for the skin.

OLIVE OIL

Chloe Grace Moretz uses this popular ingredient as a face wash. Apparently, it has worked wonders for her acne. In an interview with Allure, Chloe swears by washing her face with Olive Oil for her cystic acne. “I wash my face with olive oil. I swear my skin is so much clearer because of it,” Moretz said.

BEPANTHEN CREAM

Margot Robbie swears by this trusted cream for nursing moms to moisturize her lips!

TUMERIC

As tasty as turmeric is in curry and stews, we don’t usually think about it for its teeth-whitening potential. However, Julianne Hough is such a strong believer in turmeric’s antibacterial strength that she brushes her teeth with it. “I’ve actually been trying turmeric,” she told “E! News.” “You’d think it would be the opposite and it’d stain your teeth, but it actually makes them whiter. Tumeric is the bomb. Y’all should try it.”

MILK SPRITZ

Cindy Crawford’s homemade facial is a mix of mineral water with milk that she spritzes onto her face. The milk has lactic acid which helps to exfoliate too.

ROSEWATER

Priyanka Chopra’s beauty hack for “plumper, pinker and smoother” lips is a natural scrub. Simply mix a pinch of sea salt, a few drops of pure glycerine, and a bit of rose water together to create the exfoliant that your lips have been dreaming of.

EPSOM SALTS

Gwyneth Paltrow throws some of these salts into her bath to ease aching muscles and flush out toxins.

AVOCADO

Former Victoria’s Secret supermodel Adriana Lima reveals that she mashes an avocado and then mixes it in with her conditioner to create a moisturizing hair mask. Lima says she leaves the mask in for about 30-45 minutes and then washes it out to reveal hydrated, glossy locks.

BAKING SODA

Actress La La Anthony’s doesn’t let her struggle with psoriasis prevent her from achieving a perfect complexion or silky smooth skin. She combines a tablespoon of baking soda with water to make a paste that acts as a gentle exfoliator, massages it into her skin, and then rinses. BONUS TIP: You can even add a small amount to your regular facial cleanser for an added boost and brighter skin once a week.

POTATOES

Forget cucumber slices, to reduce eye puffiness, Lauren Conrad slices up a few refrigerated potatoes, soaks them in water for a while, then places them over her closed eyes for 15 minutes.

PRITT-STICK

Any beauty tips from Queen Bey are always welcome – we just never thought it would involve Pritt-stick! Beyoncé’s makeup artist, Sir John, revealed to ENews that he uses a Glue Stick to tame the “Formation” singer’s eyebrows—a tip that she’s picked up too. Sir John claims that, in addition to holding your brows in place, even in hot weather, the product is skin- and pore-friendly and washes off easily.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Scarlett Johanssen uses this as a toner whenever she has skin breakouts – it can be really healing apparently.

MAYONNAISE

When you hear Black Lively you think of her gorgeous locks, so we were surprised to hear she uses a well-known tuna sandwich ingredient in her hair. In an interview with Byrdie, she said “My mom taught me this really great beauty tip. She used to put oil or mayonnaise on the bottom half of her hair before she would shower,” Lively said. “That way, when she would shampoo, the soap wouldn’t strip the bottom of the hair and dry it out, making it brittle.” The mayonnaise prevents your hair from drying out by helping the hair to lock in moisture, especially at the tips, when you’re using powerful shampoos.

HEMORRHOID CREAM

Kim is known for her ultra-lavish lifestyle, so when heard that her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic uses a hemorrhoid cream called Preparation H to tighten her undereye and reduce the appearance of wrinkles we were really shocked!! It actually does work as it restricts the blood vessels, reducing redness and it also contains an anti-inflammatory ingredient that’ll get rid of any puffiness. Don’t use it every day though, as it can dry out your skin: we suggest adding it to a moisturizer to make it less potent and smell better on the days you do use it.

Ok, mums know we\’ve heard it all right? From mayonnaise to coco-cola!

Treat your hair with home made conditioner. An egg it two and some beer. Massage and leave in for 30 Min. Wash out. Your hair will be smooth, soft, shiny and nourished.
