mumbox fruit snack challenge

How will your kids do in the #FruitSnackChallenge

Kids have to learn patience, even though it seems like they already know because of how many times they test our patience right? Well it’s finally our time to test our kids patience in the most adorable and funny way. Heard of the #FruitSnackChallenge before?

First done in 1972, the #FruitSnackChallenge is part of a psychological study known as the marshmallow test, which was conducted at Stanford University in 1972 to study delayed gratification.

The children were offered the choice between eating one marshmallow immediately or waiting longer β€” 15 minutes β€” for a reward of two marshmallows. The #FruitSnackChallenge differs slightly by parents giving their kids a bowl of any type of snack and telling them they need to get something in the other room so they need to wait till they get back before eating the snack. All the while they are unaware that their results are being filmed while the parent goes to the other room. Results show most kids trying to wait, looking around if anyone has returned or screaming from the get go, with only a small few who actually waited!

The kids reactions and struggle with temptation are too funny for words.

The challenge has gone viral after starting in April last month with over 2.6 million videos with the hashtags appearing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. So we thought we’d ask you to test your kids with the #FruitSnackChallenge – that’s if you haven’t already done it! (Why not try this sugar cookies recipe when you do the #FruitSnackChallenge)

Mums – we challenge you to test your kids patience with the #fruitSnackChallenge – record your kids and share your videos with us by commenting below and attaching your kids results. (*We’re keeping our fingers crossed that there isn’t a #MumWineChallenge or worse, a #MumChocolateChallenge – we’re not sure about you but we are not feeling confident about passing that one!)

See below how much fun these parents had while filming their little ones – we can’t wait to see your videos #MUMbox #FruitSnackChallenge
