INGREDIENTS

  • 4 white bread slices
  • 4 slices wafer thin ham
  • 4 cheese strings
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g panko breadcrumbs
  • 400ml vegetable oil

METHOD

  1. Place a slice of bread on a board and remove the crusts. Place the breadcrumbs into a ziplock bag and place in the freezer. Use them for a future recipe or make breadcrumbs.
  2. With a rolling pin, flatten the bread and place a piece of ham in the centre. Trim the cheese strings to the size of the piece of bread and place at the top of the slice.
  3. Roll the bread up tightly and repeat with the remaining pieces of bread and filling.
  4. Crack the eggs into a shallow bowl and whisk until well beaten. In another bowl, pour in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Firstly, dunk the roll ups in the egg wash and then coat in the breadcrumbs.
  6. Pour the oil into a frying pan and bring to a medium-high heat.
  7. Add the roll ups to the oil and fry for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  8. Serve immediately. Enjoy.

Mums, will you be giving this recipe a try?
